Agiofarago

Agiofarago is an idyllic destination located around 80km south of Heraklion with an unspoiled Beach. To reach the beach you can either hike (30-50 min) or you can catch a boat-trip (ΟΔΗΓΕΙ ΣΤΟ ΣΥΝΔΕΣΜΟ Boat Trip Destinations- the agiofarago Beach). On the way to Agiofarago Beach you will be able to see the breathtaking coastline of Crete. We definitely recommend the second option, as tyou will be able to see inaccessible beaches. Keep an eye and you night see the chapel of St. Anthony and caves were the hermits from the monastery of Odigitria live. The beach appearing at the exit of the gorge is absolutely amazing, with tiny pebbles and crystal clear turquoise water, that stays calm the most of the times. West of the beach there is a circular bay, in which you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling or diving. Large cliffs are standing around the beach creating privacy, but you should avoid nudism as long as this area is one of the most religious places of the island.

If you are equipped with sport shoes you can climb the cliffs on the east side and  reach up to the top. You will face a spectacular view and furthermore on the southeast you will see a well hidden saltish lake, called VourvoulitisBlue Lake (ΟΔΗΓΕΙ ΣΤΟ ΣΥΝΔΕΣΜΟ BLUE LAKE), ideal for diving as it is communicating through a passage with the open sea.
