Prasonisi Beach

Prasonisi Beach

Prasonisi is a rocky coastal area located between the settlements of Agios Georgios (near Agia Galini) and Agios Pavlos, featuring several small stony beaches. A scenic coastal road runs along the shore, offering breathtaking views of the twin Paximadia islets. Driving west from Agios Georgios, visitors soon encounter the small beaches of Armenopetra (meaning “sailing rock”), named after a solitary boulder standing in the sea. These beaches are ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving.

The beach shares its name with the small islet just 80 meters offshore — Prasonisi, which means “Leek Island” in Greek. Thanks to its secluded location, Prasonisi beach remains clean, quiet, and almost private for its visitors. You can reach Prasonisi either by car or via boat excursions. Daily cruises depart from Kokkinos Pirgos, stopping at the beach for a few hours, offering a unique chance to explore this serene destination.
